See All ReviewsMuch needed girls day and family time. Parking: There’s a private parking lot. Finding a spot can be a hit or miss. Ambiance/Environment: Vibes, music, and great food all around. They have a small space with a decent amount of indoor seating. We visited right at opening, so we were seated right away. Service: Shout out to Jenny for the hospitality! She even cooked the duck and mixed the kimchi fried rice for us. Some servers speak only Spanish, and others speak Korean with enough English to get by. Foods: We got the Duck Combo with Kimchi Fried Rice added on. The Duck Combo came with kimchi pancake, steamed egg, soy bean tofu soup, corn cheese, banchan, and of course grilled and spicy seasoned duck mixed with rice cakes, potatoes, mushrooms, and chives. There were lots of duck pieces, and they were cooked well. Make sure to dip with one of their sauces for more flavor! The kimchi pancake was crispy around the edges and soft in the center just as I prefer it. The steamed egg and corn cheese tasted as expected. The soy bean tofu soup tasted light and delicious. The kimchi fried rice was entertaining to watch as Jenny was mixing everything for us. It was sooo flavorful; the kimchi flavor was on point! Pricing: The combo was definitely worth it! It was more than we expected lol. Portions are shareable at least between 2-3 people.
Kko Kko Yang Gopchang is the real deal. If you’re tired of the same old KBBQ spots, this place switches it up with duck and intestines, and they do it right. The duck was super fresh and cooked to perfection with garlic, mushrooms, and chives - the flavor was on point. The banchan spread was solid too, especially the kimchi pancake and steamed egg. The best part is when they take whatever’s left and turn it into an insanely good kimchi fried rice at the end. Portions are big, the meat quality is top-tier, and you can tell they’ve been doing this for years.
IG@waitfoodfirst Kkokko in Gardena is a unique family owned Korean barbecue that specializes in intestines and duck. If you haven’t tried intestines before I really recommend this spot! They have 5 different types of intestines with my favorites being large and small. It’s especially tasty dipped in sesame oil and salt. I also bet you’ve never had this duck platter before. The meat comes out so tender and yummy mixed with the grilled garlic. You can also end your meal with a cheesy Kimchi fried rice enjoy
